Shakira, also known by her full name ‘Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll’, a Colombian dancer, model and a choreographer, was born on 2nd of February 1977, in the city of Barranquilla. Her ancestors descents from Lebanon, She is the only daughter of a father William Chadid, and mother Nidia, who is a Spanish descent. She wrote lyrics for her first song and launched it with the title “Tus Gafas Oscuras”.
In the year 2001, Isabel marked an entry in the English market with her fifth album named “Laundry Service, which has sold over 20 million copies internationally. Isabel has won many awards including five “MTV Video Music Awards”, eight “Latin Grammy Awards” and seven “Billboard Music Awards”.
